Connecting to a group of servers with alternate credentials

avatar

Hi,

Have been asked to evaluate Devolutions as an alternative to the Windows remote desktop manager.

Unfortunately I have very limited time to make this assessment and I couldn't find the answer easily in your documentation, probably because I haven't learnt your terminology. In RDM, I have groups of servers. Each group has the appropriate credentials saved at the top level, against the group. The servers in the group automatically use those credentials.

So far I have installed Devolutions and imported my .rdg files. I have a folder structure that makes sense. The correct credentials are in the General section of each Folder. But when I connect to a server, the connection attempts to use my local user account instead of the stored credentials from the Folder.

How do I fix this please?

Hi Karen,

on your RDP session settings, can you please check the Credentials section? In your scenario this should be set to Inherited.

More informations about Credentials you'll find here:

Thanks Min

Where do I find that setting? Or this not an option in the trial/free version?

Hi Karen,

Right click on the RDP Session => Properties

But you're right - The credential inherited feature for sessions is only available in the Enterprise Edition. If you are now using the Free Edition you're unable to set the Inherited option on session entries.

But you can test the Enterprise Edition 30 days for free ;)
