make the footer options available using the 'menu' interface

Currently you can only seem to access 'footer' options and panes via the ribbon interface.
When switching to the 'menu' interface there are no options to enable/disable or view/unview the footer and its associated panes.

Please add this capability underneath 'view -> layout -> footer'

Hello,
This is not as simple as it might sound. We use to have something like that but it was not working always as expected. Unfortunately there is no real footer pane. It's created dynamically when docked at the bottom because the content might be moved anywhere else.

Right. All I'm saying is create a new submenu underneath view-> layout, and call it 'footer'

Then you can have all the same options that are in the ribbon that is in the menu

view -> layout -> footer -> description
view -> layout -> footer -> logs
etc

all the footer submenu is doing is allowing you access to enable/disable these same panes just like the ribbon is doing. nothing more.
