Internet-Explorer Auth broken with 13.6

Internet-Explorer Auth broken with 13.6

avatar

Hi!

I just updated to RDM 13.6
Now, the Web-Authentications are broken with InternetExplorer:

Username is filled in, but password stays empty

In RDM 13, everything was working fine.

Do you have any idea on what to do?
Chrome seems to work, but most of my connections are using InternetExplorer in the connection settings.

Regards

Hello,

In the properties of your web browser session, in the Login tab, go under the HTML Control ID tab and make sure that you have an ID in the Password ID field.

If there's an ID in that area, you can try to uncheck the Only Send password in HTML password field option located in the Login -> Credentials tab.

Hi Jeff!

I know these settings and I am using RDM for years. The form-control settings are unchanged and they are set correct. If I am using chrome, they are inserted correct, but NOT with IE.

"Send passwords in HTML" is activated, too.

In RDM 13.0 everything is working fine - it must deal with 13.6

Hello,

If you uncheck the Only Send password HTML password field option, is it working as expected?

Hi Jeff!

Sorry for the late reply...

Yes, this solved the issue, but: Why/how was this changed?

Hello,
Our engineering department did a change awhile ago that prevented sending a password to a non-password type field. This change has been done in order to follow new security norms.
In the latest version of RDM, 13.6.2.0, they added a new feature that now allow you to disable this setting if it cause you any issue. This feature is the one that my colleague mentioned above.
