Hi all,
I have a query around the jump server deployment which I'm looking into possibly using. The manual states that the jump server agent uses a remote desktop connection to tunnel the connectivity -
1) Does it require a separate RDP session per connection from the same person, or does it reuse the same connection?
2) Does it require a separate RDP session for different users?
Basically, for my team to have more than a couple of sessions running, do I need terminal server licenses?
Hope that makes sense!
Thanks,
Neil
Hello,
Indeed, if you want multiple users connecting at the same time on the Jump Host, Remote Desktop Services are required.
Please have a look at this article to properly set RDM on a Terminal Server;

Thanks Mark. How does it work if I install it as a jump server and run the application under a specific credential (say a generic account), and then my team, who all have RDM installed locally, have sessions configured to use that server as a jump off server, all with the same set of credentials? This is following the section "Configure entries to use Remote Desktop Manager Jump" in the manual. Does it restrict me to one session at a time?
Hello,
In the steps here;
https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/kb_configureremotedesktopmanagerjump.htm
You can configure your sessions to pass through the Jump Host.
There is no limit on the number of sessions that can be used through the Jump Host but there might be a limit on physical resources (RAM).
RDM on the Jump Host should be considered as a shell to launch sessions.
