Hello,
can someone explain me please how to connect to a VM in a vSphere 6.5 environment using VMware Workstation as Remote Console?
When I choose "VMware Remote Console" as connection type, RDM expects a vmrc.exe as application ... but I don't have this installed, because I use VMware Workstation on my local machine instead.
My workaround is to copy vmware.exe as vmrc.exe in this folder ... but it's a quick and dirty solution.
Is there a better way to do this?
Hi Tom,
VmWare Workstation is a good product to create VM on your local computer, but when you need to connect to a remote server it's better to install VMware
Remote Console which is free and doesn't require any licensing from VmWare.
That being said, if you would like to use "Vmware Console" or "Vmware Remote Console" from RDM you need to have PowerCLI application installed. This application is also free and it's the requirement from Vmware to communicate.
Further information could be found here.
