Issues with Putty sessions

Hi,

I no longer seem able to create Putty sessions within RDM (unless I am missing something really obvious). The closest I can get is the SSH Shell but I need to be able to use Putty.

Also, many of my connections using SSH within Putty no longer work - they bring up a blank putty connection window but don't make a successful connection. Some of the Putty SSH sessions do still work, and if I copy these and change the address to a device that isn't working, the connection works.

Any help appreciated

Hello,

Simply make sure that you enable the "Show Deprecated Entries" option as shown bellow

Ok thanks - so is Putty being ditched then? Also any idea why some of my existing sessions fail to connect over putty/SSH when if I create a new session it connects fine?

The session must exist in Putty on your local computer. Is it the case?

I got to the bottom of it - these were originally telnet sessions that were converted to SSH but the port number was left on 23. None of these exist in my local putty sessions, they are configured to 'use these settings' in the RDM session edit page.

Will Putty be removed as a connection type in a future release?

Hello,

Putty should not be removed completely from RDM.

If I can recommend something, our built-in SSH Shell session is based on Putty, so you should be able to use it the same way as Putty, however, you don't need an external tool to make them work and it's easier for us to troubleshoot issue with this type of session since we have access to the code.

Could you export the entry with fake values?
