Too Many Entries for Online Drive?

avatar

Is there a recommend max # of entries to be used for Online Drive? It has basically become unusable where after making any change takes 10 seconds for the program to free up. Also, if I don't use the program for a few minutes and go back it takes a few seconds for it to respond.

Btw, I have 1893 entries.

Hello,

You are the first customer reporting having almost 2000 entries in Online Drive.

I will ask our QA department to create a Online Drive data source with 2000 entries to see if we encounter the same slowness issue. Then, we would need to have a chat with our engineering department.

Quick question; where are you located?

Best regards,

Jeff Dagenais

Hello,

Could you export all your entries and tell us what is the size of your exported file ?

Right click on your Devolution Online Drive root -> Export -> Export All (.rdm)...

If your file is over 3mb there might be some entries that has heavy attachments.

We also found recently that an encrpted RTF Document entry can weight over 10mb if containing an image, although that might not be your case.

Best regards,

Alexandre Roy

It is 3.14MB.

Currently I set it up to use Onedrive for Business as the Data Source location using XML to see if that would speed things up.

I can tell you a majority of the entries are probably folders since I create templates for Servers/Switches/Firewalls/Virtualization/etc.

For example the VENDOR_TEMPLATE I have looks like the following:

Vendor Name
- Contacts
- Logins
- Documentation
- Software/Licenses

So right there you have 5 entries. So even with 50 vendors you have 250 entries and no actual sessions/attachments/documents/etc.

Hi again,

If you go in the help tab > Profiler and set the performance profiler level to 1, what do you get if you rename an entry or a CTRL + F5?

in the Datasource property do you have *Allow offline* checked up?

Does it gives the same result in the profiler if you change the *Allow Offline* option?

I've attached a screenshot of where the option is located.

Best regards,

Alexandre Roy

I'll test here shortly since I'm currently using OD4B right now instead of Online Drive (did this last night). I'll switch back to Online Drive and try it out and let you know.

Still haven't had a chance to test this yet. Just wanted to give you an update.
