Hi,

Suddenly Remote Desktop Manager keeps crashing not long after the start up logo appears. I have uninstalled it and removed all references to it but after installing the latest version, it keeps crashing. Same thing with older versions.

Error log attached.

Any help?

Windows 10 Enterprise 10.0.15063 N/A Build 15063

Hi David,

I have tried 12.5.4.0 and 13.5.0.0. Both crashes.

This is strange error. The crash is in MSHTML.dll which is the library for IE. Could you try to hide the dashboard. We use IE to display the overview.

I have found lots of tips online regarding turning things off in Remote Desktop Manager. Problem is that I can't do anything in the program. It crashes few seconds after startup.

avatar

Could you try to set <ShowDashboardSectionPane>false</ShowDashboardSectionPane> in remotedesktopmanager.cfg located in %localappdata%\devolutions\remotedesktopmanager. Backup the file before

Just to know, do you have IE 11 installed?

Regards

David Hervieux

avatar

Yes I have. Edge is standard browser.

Best regards
Thomas Gammelgaard Madsen

avatar

Are you sure that IE is IE11 because Edge and Internet Explorer are not the same. The problem is with Mshtml.dll which is part of Windows.

Regards

David Hervieux

avatar

I'm sure :) I have both IE 11 and Edge installed (default setup on Windows 10 as far as I know)

avatar

I don't remember if you tried RDM 32 and 64 bit?

That's a good news. I'm sorry you had to re-install your desktop.
