Credentials and connections merged after upgrading to 13.5.0.0

avatar

After upgrading RDM to 13.5.0.0 and DVLS server to 5.0.0.0, the tree view is missing the option to display connections and credentials separately. Under File -> Options -> User Interface -> Tree View, the option to 'Merge credential list with sessions (local data source only)' is unchecked, and indeed, local XML data source works the way it did in 13.0.6.0, but DVLS server now allows only merged view. Is there a way to revert it to previous version behavior?

Hello Boris,

sounds like the same behaviour like in this thread.

Could you please check the database source setting Administration => Data Source Settings => Types =>Merge credential list with session

Min

That did it, thank you!

Hi!

We have about 600 DataSources. Can we change this setting via PowerShell so that we dont have to do it manually?

Hello,

Since this setting is now in the data source settings, it should be easy for you to manage because what you configure in Administration -> Data Source Settings will be replicated on all your workstations.

Okay. But can i do this change with PowerShell?

Hello,

What do you want to change via PowerShell exactly?

Do you want to enable/disable the Merge credential list with sessions option in Administration -> Data Source Settings -> Applications -> Type Settings via PowerShell?

What version of RDM are you running?

Yes. i am running 13.5 and according to the topic of this post i have to change all out 60+ Datasources becuase the behavoir for the merge-Settings is now in the DataSource.

So becaus this would be a lot of manual work my question is if i can set this setting via PowerShell

Hello,

Thank you for the explanation.

Let me verify this with my team and get back to you.

Hello,

I am afraid to say that it is not possible to use PowerShell to modify the Merge credential list with sessions option.

It's now a setting in the Data Source Settings to avoid inconsistency in the database. We now recommend to always merge the Credentials and use the View - Credential List ribbon button instead. By splitting them, the folder hierarchy is duplicated and it could lead to some security mistakes or problems. The other workaround is to create your own Credentials folder at the root and change the Sort Priority option to make sure it's always the last folder.
