I have RDP Connections for test servers which are running on VMWare ESXi Environment.
The test servers are not always on.
When i try to connect, i get an error message. Then i have to search the Connection für ESXi Hypervisor, Connect to it, search for the specific server and power them on.
Ist there a way to add a "power on" button to the RDP Connection? Asuming that i link the RDP Connection with the VM Information from the ESXi Hypervisor.
Hello Thomas,
I'm not sure this could be a feature directly on a RDP connection, but something that could be very useful for you is the Vmware Console. It's a console which is able to connect to a vCenter or a ESXI server and allow to Power On a server or some other day to day task.
Some interesting link:

Please install PowerCLI prior to work with Vmware Integration

So can i link the RDP Entry to the Virtual Machine listet in VMware Console?
The goal is that i don't have to search for the name of the Server a second time. Because we have a lot of Servers in our Virtual Enviornment.
I have a feature on my todo list to do the opposite. Link the RDP to a server and add some functionalities like what you want. This is not done yet but I think it would fit exactly with what you want.

So the goal is to use the search bar at on navigation window to find the host. Like we do for all other 1000 Serves.
My idea is to use a host entry instead of a rdp entry. But there ist no (still supportet) Entry type the represents a VMWare Virtual Machine and have the Capability to power on this vm.
Another idea is to write a powershell Script to power on the virtual machine. But i have not found a solution to link a script so that i can easily send a poweron command. Next thing is that the script must be replicated to all other workstations so that everyone can use the poweron button.
