Clicking in Navigation dumps me back to the dashboard

Help, I'm hoping this is a user setting, but it's been happening forever only I'm just now asking.
When I click on a folder or entry in the navigation pane. It takes me back to the dashboard. I can double click just fine, but it's annoying me when it switches tabs.
I have standard mouse and no special settings in Windows. Is there a way to turn this off?

Hello,
It seems that your settings enable Auto Focus Dashboard.
You can disable this option through File -> Options, menu Dashboard and uncheck Auto Focus Dashboard.
