Inherited Credentials

I am playing around with RDM Free (which may be my issue) and I can't seem to get the Inherited Credentials to work, the option is greyed out. I have a folder where I placed my logon credentials and have a couple sessions as a subfolder. The Credentials field is not accessible. Is it because I am using a local data source and the free version?
