Selection behavior after a search

When I search a server though the search bar, select it and the clear the search, it will automatically go back to the selection before the search. Is there a way to change the behavior?

I am not able to reproduce your issue using RDM 13.0.6.0.
What version of RDM are you running?
Could you post a small video of the issue.

I think the fix may be related to your issue.
I suggest trying the next version of RDM when available to see if you still encounter the issue.
