Hi,
we would like to use the AD integrated security of MS SQL. Our DBA won't give us full administrative access to the database, the highest possible right is "DB Owner".
Which additional rights to the DB Owner role are needed to work with a fully functional RDM?
kind regards
Marcus K.
Hi Marcus,
"DB Owner" is more than enough.
I'm assuming you are also granting login rights via AD roles on the SQL server directly? If so, make sure to uncheck "Create SQL Server Login and User" when creating your users in RDM. This will tell RDM to not bother trying to create the users in SQL.
It will still try to grant the required rights needed for admin and non-admin accounts. Some admin grants will fail (silently, only logged) but will not block the process of creation.
Give it a try and let me know if you need any assistance.
Best regards,
