Hi,
We have our sessions since in a folder tree listing to keep things separated. We are now setting up a complete duplicate environment of one of our areas. I'm hoping there's a way that I can copy an entire folder and all its subfolders and then paste them in so I don't 'have to recreate things from scratch.
I tried doing a Duplicate on a top level folder but it only duplicate that one folder and not the subfolders. I don't care if it copies the Sessions or not as those will have to be redone anyway but if there's a way to copy a folder and all subfolders, or a folder and all contents of all kinds within it, please let me know.
Thanks.
Hello,
We have simple data migration process documented here;
https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_data_migration.htm
I think this will do the trick.
Please let me know if you need anything else.

Hi!
I have same problem. I would like to do the same but duplicate the entire folder structure within the same database. However if I do that I run in to problems since the guids are also exported and then I cannot import again without getting severe problems.
I also tried to add the folder structure as a Template group, but if I try to do that RDM client says: "Unable to connect to the data source.
Do you want to go in offline mode?" And then I get a error message (sent to you today).
Is there a way to do this in a better way?

Hello,
Just to make sure I understand, you want to take a folder structure and copy it in the same Vault/Datasource, correct?
Also, your get the error message when you try to create the Template Group or when you try to add the entries?
Lastly, what is your Remote Desktop Manager version and Datasource type?

Hi!
Yes, I would like to copy it in the same Vault/Datasource.
I get the error when I try to create the Template Group.
I'm running RDM 2019.2.22.0 64-bit on Windows 10 and the data source is DPS 2019.1.20.0.
Kind regards,
Hello,
Would you be able to give it a try with 2019.1.41.0, this would be the compatible RDM version with your DPS : https://cdn.devolutions.net/download/Setup.RemoteDesktopManager.2019.1.41.0.msi

Hi we upgraded the server to 2019.2.12 instead. It still does not work. It still asks me to go to offline mode when I click "Save as template group" . If I click no I get a new message:
ArgumentException - An item with the same key has already been added. at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentException(ExceptionResource resource) at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Insert(TKey key, TValue value, Boolean add) at Devolutions.RemoteDesktopManager.Managers.ActionManager.SaveAsTemplate(Connection[] currentConnections, Boolean localTemplate, String currentGroup) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.RaiseEvent(Object key, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripMenuItem.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripDropDown.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripDropDown.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
Could it be that this folder was once created from a template that we still have in the system? In that case, how can I proceed to create a new template from this folder?
Hello,
It doesn't seem like we were able to reproduce the issue, we will continue to investigate.
