Hi Devolutions-Team,
in a post 2 years ago (https://forum.devolutions.net/messages.aspx?TopicID=24917), I asked for a feature to show favorites in treeview.
Devolutions-like, the feature was provided with an update. Everything worked fine.
Today I updated RDM to Version 13.0.5.0 an my treeview-mode in favorites is gone.
Is there a parameter, I didn´t get so far? Did you drop that feature?
Tanks for your support.
Regards,
Henning

Hello,
Your post prompted me to write a sticky topic in this forum for those significant changes
https://forum.devolutions.net/topic28756-rdm--significant-changes.aspx
Indeed, personal favorites have been deprecated. Our briefing on this subject informed us that they have not been transformed into shared favorites because it was a personal preference.
I will confirm and get back to you if this is not the case.
Best regards,
Maurice
Hello,
We a discussion revealed that the handling of favorites is even more complex than that, in fact it depends on your data source type.
Which one are you using?
Best regards,
Maurice
Hello Maurice,
thanks for your reply. That are absolutely no good news for us.
Maybe there is a way, to enable personal favorites again, as this is very important for all of our users.
Shared favorites means a copy of all our session in the favorites-tab; that doesn´t make any sense.
We are using MS SQL Server as data source type.
Hoping for good news from you,
Henning
Hello,
They have not been deprecated, I should have been clearer in my second post.
They are now "Roaming", they will follow you on every workstation that you use.
Sadly, we are investigating an issue that in some cases they have been missed during the upgrade. I will get back to you when QA reports their findings.
Best regards,
Maurice
Hi Maurice,
I don´t think, that the feature requested in my post 2 years ago (https://forum.devolutions.net/messages.aspx?TopicID=24917) still exists.
I´ve setup a very simple test environment (MS SQL Server)
and flagged Customer A and Customer B as favorite
And this is, what my favorites look like in version 12.5.4.0
Still hoping for good news from you.
Best regards,
Henning

Hello,
Sorry about that, the bug we were looking into was the loss of favorites and my brain was stuck on that idea.
What we're being told by engineering is that the folders were incompatible so they could not be upgraded, yet the feature does exist although in a limited fashion.
You can create plain folders, not all of the sub-types that I see in your screenshot (Site, Company, etc). They are really meant as a way to create a simple structure. As of now (13.0.5), you cannot edit the name of the folders after creation.
Hopefully it wont be too much work to re-create the structure.
Sorry about my misunderstanding and dragging this on longer than it should have been.
Maurice
Hi,
I will check what we can do. I will have to investigate a little bit but I will get back to you soon.

Any updates on this item? This is very inconvenient as we typically organize our servers into a Developmnet, Test, RC, Prod structure, but now all of those VMs are mixed in with one another, making it more error-prone to opening the wrong VM. Are there any plans to restore the tree-structure view functionality for Favorites? Thanks.
Still on my todo list. I will check what I can do soon. I have few ideas.

Hello,
This will be in the next beta. You will see an option to use the legacy favorite UI.
