Hello, I've been looking into Remote Desktop Manager to see if it would work for our Business and it seems quite promising.
However, I've been unable to get the FortiClient add-on to work. I'd really appreciate some help with this, as if we can't get this to work it would probably be a deal breaker.
I'm using Forticlient version: 5.6.0.1075 and RDM version: 4.0.2.0.
Using the advice in the support documents I've copied the Forticlient executable and renamed it, and tried running the the RDM VPN entry with both the FortiClient tunnel and using the Fortissl link.
The former does nothing besides briefly showing the command prompt. I'll note it also doesn't seem to launch the Forticlient process in taskmanager. The latter will just show the Forticlient laucher and then does nothing more.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Connor,
What type of FortiClient connection are you trying to start. Is it the FortiSSL or the FortiClient?

Hello David,
I'm trying to start a SSL-VPN FortiClient connection.
Cheers
Hi Connor,
I'm presently working to an issue similar with another customer, could you do in Run windows prompt the Winver command and send us the printscreen.
Best regards,
David Grandolfo
Certainly David, here it is:
If in the Forticlient entry you check the "Show Command" option and you try to execute in command line the command. Does it work?
If no, do you have any specific error?

David Grandolfo

The command is shown.
Than I have a prompt for an admin user (because forticlient has been installed with an other user, that has admin privileges), and then nothing.
@Lorenzo,
Could you try starting RDM as the forticlient user (the one use to install it).
Best regards,
David Grandolfo
Hey David,
This is what shows when I try to run the VPN using the "Show Command" option:
Hi,
And what is the output when you try to run it in a DOS command line?
Best regards,
David Grandolfo
Hey David,
This is what I see when I try to run the command in cmd.
Hi Connor,
Where does FortiClient be installed?
You can try to run the "ipsec.exe -U "username" -P "password" "SSL-VPN_Name" directly from the FortiClient installation folder.
Best regards,
