VMWare Sync

According to the description from online help, the VMware Sync should create sessions of each VM in vCenter based solely on the folder structure of VMware. The sync is creating a session for each VM but is not creating the folder structure from vCenter, all VMs are added to the root of the RDM Destination Group.

Description: The VMware Synchronizer is used to synch your complete virtual machine structure from VMware in Remote Desktop Manager, populating an Remote Desktop Manager structure based solely on the folder structure of VMware. It will automatically create sessions for each of your virtual machine.

Is there a setting that needs to configured to maintain the folder structure from vCenter?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

According to this post on our forum https://forum.devolutions.net/topic27991-import-server-list-from-vmware-vsphere.aspx#post106079, replicating the VMWare folder structure in RDM is still on our Todo list.

Sorry about the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Thanks for the info. That post is 4 months old, is it possible the feature has been added? Why else would the online help specifically state sessions will be added to RDM folder structure based "solely" on the folder structure of VMware?

I actually requested this feature over a year ago: TopicID=24813

Hello,

Its a copy/paste of a paragraph from one of our other synchronizers, we are fixing the help topic as we speak.

Thanks.

I updated my original post and probably should have added a new one to say, "I actually requested this feature over a year ago: TopicID=24813"

Any idea on when we can expect this feature?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I had a chat with our engineering department and this is still on the ToDo list.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide you an exact date/version when this feature will be implemented. Our engineering department is currently working on the release of RDM 13, which should be soon.

Sorry for the delay regarding your request.

Best regards,

Jeff Dagenais

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but is this feature any further along? I couldn't find anything, but perhaps is it included in version 14?

Hello,
We plan to do a Powershell synchronizer soon and this could be used for the VMWare sync at the same time.
