RDP sessions group inheritance

Hi there,

I imported all my RDP sessions from an RDG file but it has imported all the sessions with the default port. I use a custom port for connecting and this was in the RDG file. I know I can edit the port individually but is there a way to edit the root of the group with certain params and have them be inherited by those below?

Hi,
I will ask our to team to check the bug with the import. Unfortunately it's not possible to inherit the port in RDM. I think you can use the batch edit to change the port on multiple entries.

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply. Currently I am running the free version to evaluate before I buy, I don't see the batch edit option, is this only available in the enterprise version?

Hi James,

indeed this feature is only available in the enterprise version - here you will find a short compare list.

But you can try the enterprise edition 30 days for free (see here)

Hello James,

I've been trying to reproduce the issue but I've been unable to.
What version of RDCMan are you using? I set a custom port and it's correctly imported into RDM, I'm using RDCMan version 2.7 to create the RDG file.

Hi Hubert,

I am using v2.7. i have installed the trial of enterprise and imported and successfully edited the port on all sessions. The other issue I am having (sorry to spawn another thread inside this one, if I need to close and open a new one please let me know) is that I have exported my PuttyCM database of sessions to an XML file, when I run the import wizard and select xml it appears to work but no sessions are imported and no message is displayed.

Hello,

We don't support the import from PuttyCM, however, is it possible for you to import those sessions in Putty? If so, you can then go in File -> Import -> Putty to import then directly from putty.

Hi Jeff,

I only had a small number of sessions but around 100 connections in PCM. I really don't want to have to recreate those.

I worked around it by exporting from PuttyCM and imported to SuperPutty then imported from SuperPutty to RCM. It seems to have duplicated all the henties but I can work with that

Hello James,

Thank you for your feedback.

Sorry for the duplicate, but you can go in Administration -> Reports -> Duplicate Entries and delete the duplicate ones directly from that window.
