Not sure what happened. But suddenly when trying to start Remote Desktop manager its asks me for a Database Password.
Tried different passwords but not able to login.
Is there a way to reset the password without losing the existing profiles?
Thanks
Hello Helder,
I suspect that you are using SQL Server as your data source for RDM and that you are authenticating using a database user. Am I correct?
If it's the case, another RDM administrator can go in the Administration -> Users menu, select your user and press the Lock button at the top to reset your password. Then, it will be possible for you to use this password to authenticate and change it once connected via the Administration tab.
All the data will be kept.

Jeff Dagenais
Thanks! It worked!

Hello,
Which version of RDM and what type of Data Source you are currently using? Also, would it be possible for you to provide us with a screenshot of the prompt you receive?
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hi James,
Thanks for your support, here are the screenshots I hope that can answer your question:
After I login successfully Application Login, the Database Login shows up:
i am not sure that I set this password before, also tried with my all pwd I have :(
Thank you!
Hello,
Thank you for your swift reply!
We suspect that this might be a bug in the UI. For this reason, could you please do the following:
1- Go under File -> Data Sources -> Select your Sqlite Data Source and edit it
2- Go to the path field
3- Cut it (CTRL+X)
4- Uncheck "Always ask for password"
5- Paste the path back
6- Save
Do you still encounter this issue afterward?
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Dear James,
Thanks for your help, I tried to follow your guide:
after paster the path then hit OK, it notices "The password is required" :(
then I tried click Manage Password and hit No Password:
it is still showing "the password is required" like above
Hope that I did not miss something
Thank you
Hello,
Thank you for these screenshots.
Unfortunately, this confirms that the file is protected with a master key and that this wasn't simply a UI issue.
Unless you remember the master key that was used, you will not be able to access the data it contains.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards,
James Lafleur
So its better that I create new database then restore from backup.
Thank James for your support!
