2 Security Groups

avatar

Hallo,
we try to set users in more than one security group.
Currently this is not supported.

We have different groups/folder, one user have to use theese differnt folders.
We set the user in more than one security group.

Every Folder in the root has his own security group.
So the user can't access in different folders.

I have a Network and UCS team.
User A have to access in Network and UCS -- Blades as well.

But he don't have the access to RDP.

Hello,

If you are using RDM 12, it will be possible for you to use our new Role Based Security system instead of the Security groups to apply the security on your Group/Folders in RDM.

Please consult the links below for more information

Hi Jeff,

thanks for that note.
But, i have some trouble with this role secuirty feature.

So i have a user wich have full right of the network folder.
The User has also rights on RDP in a different folder group.

If i login with the user , i can only see the network folder.
The RDP Folder is not visible.

Hello,

What are the permissions of the UCS folder? Could you please post a screen shot of these permissions?

For you information, the user must have View permission of the full path to have access to a subfolder.

Hello,
this is our three.
Offi2010 has view right on "Netze..." and full rights on one of the sub folder.
Offi2010 can't see anything of "Netze..."

Hello,

I am still unable to reproduce your issue with RDM 12.9.2.0 and DVLS 4.6.1.0.

When connected with user Offi2010, could you please go in File - My Data Source Information and send us this report by clicking on the small envelop button on the top left corner of that report dialog?

Best regards,

Hello,

Could you please run the profiler and send us the results? We want to check if there is some duplicated groups in your database.

Please go in Help -> Profiler. Then, in the Performance tab, set the level to 1 and in the Debug Only tab, set the level to 256.
Drag the profiler window on your second screen and then perform a CTRL+Refresh or CTRL+F5 to refresh the local cache and send me the results by clicking on the Send Trace to Support.

Hello,

i also have use the Windows Authentification. I change to UPN and the issue is solve.
So I set custom rights on the top folder and custom rights on sub folders as well.

It works with UPN but, it would be more pretty with Windows Authentification.
I read the Post from another user, he have the same trouble.

Hello,

Thank you for the information.

I have finally been able to reproduce your issue. It is indeed similar to the other post on the forum. But I am unable to reproduce it with the Windows Authentication option, only when connected with the NetBios username format.

Could you please try the following to see if this could help to fix the Windows Authentication issue?
Please select the user in the User and Security Management dialog and then click on the Refresh User Information from Active Directory button.

Hello,
i have finally try differnet options.
So, when i login with the UPN "offi2010@..." the security settings are going to be right.
If i login with my Windows Credentials this works as good as the previous login.

The issue happens, if i login with the Netbios Login manually. "bg10\offi2010"
Usually, my Users use the Windows Credentials to login.
