SSH tunnel as replacement for jumpserver

Hi!

Can SSH tunnel in RDM be used as a replacement for the Jumpserver? I'e we create a SSH tunnel option and define it as VPN connection on the connection object, but how does the connection object (RDP in this case) know to send traffic in the SSH tunnel?

Can the same SSH tunnel be used for several RDP connections, i'e each RDP session has the same SSH Tunnel defined as VPN and RDM is intelligent enough to not take down the SSH Tunnel if one of several active connections are taken down?

Since SSH tunnel is simply terminating in a Linux box onprem (in our case) can the SSH tunnel destination be a cluster of some sort in RDM? I'e collection of hosts and RDM picks any one that responds when the connection is taken up?

I assume multiple users can use the same SSH Tunnel in parallell to connect to resources on the opposite end of the SSH Tunnel?

/Kaj

Hello,

Indeed, SSH Tunnel can be a replacement of RDM Jump.

Yes, the same SSH Tunnel can be used for several RDP sessions. Using the VPN Group, it will be possible for you to leave the SSH Tunnel opened until the last session is closed - https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_vpngroup.htm

Yes, the same SSH Tunnel can be used in parallel by the users of the data source.

You can also consult this help topic for more information regarding the SSH Tunnel
