When I install RDM, the installation hangs at the following screen (I left it like that for 3 days):
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4JEb8e9qd_Xbm0xSUc2Rm0xSkU
I can kill the installation and the program will work until I need to install something else or reboot. Then I get the following 2 errors in the event log:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4JEb8e9qd_Xa0V5NnhFaHEtYXM
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4JEb8e9qd_XaFlEWmx4cEJGZFU
At this point, I have to start the process all over again. I've tried uninstalling RDM and removing all residual files from the hard drive and Registry. Nothing seems to help. My OS is Windows 10 Professional build 10.0.14393.
Hello,
Could you try uninstalling RDM using this tool from Microsoft
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall
Then, reinstall RDM using the MSI file downloaded from our website
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/Download
If the MSI is not working, you can download the Zip file of RDM and deploy it in the installation folder.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
I did as you suggested. The uninstall with the tool hung. I ended up rebooting and going back into the tool & it didn't show RDM on either the uninstall or install list. I installed with the MSI and it hung at removing backup files but stuck at roughly 70% instead of 98%. I left it like that for hours before killing the installer processes (there were multiple started with the install). The program works but I haven't rebooted yet to see if it will give the even log errors again.
Hello,
Hummm, it's the first time that I heard that the Microsoft Tool hang during an uninstall. This is strange.
To make sure that the installation is complete, you can download the zip file of RDM on https://remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/Download and deploy it in your installation folder.
Best regards,
