Black screen in RDM on RemoteApp

Black screen in RDM on RemoteApp

avatar

Hi Support,

When one of our users try to connect to our RDM RemoteApp, throught Windows 7 or Linux, they are not able to see the RDM dashboard, just a black screen.

Do you know what is the option that I can change or modify in the server?.
I think it is something related to RDP connection but I don´t able to find the option.

Many thanks in advance.

Raúl.

Hello,

Do you launch the RDP session in Embedded or External mode?

Also just to be sure, if you use MSTSC.exe in Windows, do you have the same issue?

Best regards,

Hi Mark,

As I commented before, I have the RDM application as RemoteApp. I think you are taking about a different question, apologies if I didn´t explain correctly. I will try to explain it better:

I currently have RDM software installed in a RemoteApp Server (On Windows 2012 R2 Server with SQL Express). I have configured different profiles in the application. One of this profiles have only access to one session (SSH).
This profile connects to the RDM software via RemoteAPP and when it tries to open the program (Remote Desktop Manager) it shows a black screen and he doesn´t see the RDM dashboard, so he doesn´t open any session.

He is using Linux platform to connect to the RemoteApp instance. I tried, as well, on a Windows 7 machine, and the behaviour is the same.
In my Windows 10 laptop works OK.

I commented that maybe the problem is on Options--Types-RDP and maybe there any option that fix this issue. I attach you a screenshot with my options.

I hope this explanation will better than I explained yesterday.

Many thanks,
Raúl.

Hi again,
I was able to fix this issue.
There is a parameter in the RDP file (You need to edit your RDP file wit notepad) that is causing this problem. This is the parameter is related to Bits Per Pixel: session bpp:i:32 (default) and you need to change to session bpp:i:16.
After changed it, this should work.
I have another question related with this issue that I couldn´t solve. When I try to connect to a session RDM show me a User/Password prompt (RDM Prompt). Is there any way to avoid the RDM prompt and use the end session prompt?. For example, If I want to connect using a SSH session, firstly appears the RDM prompt instead of my linux computer prompt.

Many thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thank you for the screenshot.

This is a very good question.

As of now, the only way to avoid this would be to enter Username & Password in the SSH session.

That being said, I will discuss this with our engineers to see if we can do something.

Best regards,

Hello,

I have spoken with one of our engineers and we will have a look at the possibility of adding this.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide a date for it's implementation.

Best regards,
