Hello,
it would be nice if there would be an addon for IgelUms manager
http://www.igel.de
Hello,
Do you know if this application can be invoke with a command line, SDK or API?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hi Jeff,
The IGEL UMS Manager has no command line parameters, but it can be managed via restapi
(https://www.igel.com/igel-management-interface/)
The Software is free and can be downloaded via the following URL:
https://www.igel.com/software-downloads/igel-universal-management-suite/#lightbox-form
It Would be nice, if that application can be supported by RDM.
@Benjamin,
Thank you for your feedback.
I will assign this to our engineering department to see if an add-on can be created.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hello,
I had a chat with our engineering department and they will create a session type for your request since they offer a proper API for the integration.
This has been added to our ToDo list.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Is there any update on this?
Hello,
Would you be able to tell us what kind of integration you would like, for Igel UMS? What kinds of feature would you use, what workflow would you like to achieve within RDM, etc?
It would guide us in knowing the scope of the integration and its feasibility.
Regards,
Hubert Mireault
Hello,
we would also find an integration of the Igel UMS very helpful. We would like to connect to the ThinClients via the RemoteDesktopManager via VNC. Only the host names from the Igel UMS have to be imported for this.
Is there any news on this topic?
greeting
Jan
Hello,
As you can see in this thread, our community has shown some interest over the years for an integration of IGEL UMS, but since we never were quite sure of what scope the integration should have, we haven't put this on a roadmap.
So from what I understand of your needs, you would only need a way to fetch the host names from IGEL UMS, save the password in RDM, and use this information to connect by VNC? In this case, maybe an Import feature would be more useful than an entry type, what do you think?
Do you know if their REST API documentation is public for this? I tried to look on their website and while the REST API is mentioned, I couldn't find documentation on it.

Hubert Mireault
Hi Hubert,
There is an IGEL ready program that will get you access to the correct people to answer all these questions.

Hi Hubert
I also want to push the topic. We would like to see it.
https://kb.igel.com/en/igel-management-interface/current/imi-api-v3-reference
@sberning: Thank you for showing interest in this and for linking an API reference link, this is very useful.
Is an import of hosts from IGEL UMS what you're looking for?

Hubert Mireault
Hi,
we would also find an integration of the Igel UMS very helpful.
In our Igel UMS are all Igel Thin Clients listed for managment and also for remotemanagement.
It would be nice that all Thin Clients can be synchronized to RDM.
An simple integration like create an folder where all ThinClients would synchronized into with hostname, ip adress an if possible some details like current user logon an description would be very helpful.
Best regards
Thank you for the feedback and description of what you're looking to have. For these entries you would like being synchronized, would you see them as the generic "Host" type? We don't integrate any 'launcher' for Igel UMS as far as I know so RDM could only store this information but not allow any connection.
Also I've moved this thread to the Feature Request forum so we can better keep track of this. At the moment it's still not a priority since we don't have an environment for this and it would be a blind implementation, but user feedback lets us revise the priority of those requests.

Hubert Mireault
Hi,
Yes it is in import of Hosts we are looking for
Hi,
Igel ThinClients will mostley managed by VNC. So it would be helpful that ThinClients would be stored as host with typ vnc c.onnection.
For us it is important that the hosts are not only imported but also synchronized because we have a lot of changes to our thin clients.
