Database login from not domain joined computer

Database login from not domain joined computer

avatar

Hi,

Our DB is an MS SQL enterprise server.

The Domain Users group is granted db_datareader & db_datawriter on the RDM DB. Login to DB from a joined domain computer works perfectly.

I have users who are working with computers that are not joined to the domain. How should I setup the database connection to allow them to connect?

Thanks
Cédric

Hello,

I assume that you want them to also use domain credentials, the solution for that is to use the RUNAS /NETONLY command to launch RDM.

Please consult https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_runas_rdm.htm

Yes this solution work but we would like an integrated solution.

Is it not possible through the Custom Login setting?

Could we have a short call on this topic with you?
This is a topic we will have when we want to integrate RDM for our customers. We need to understand the different use case for DB connection.

Thanks

When a computer is not on the domain is it possible to provide the domain credentials in Custom Login or Database login dialog to enable the connection to the DB server? (see attachments)

Can we plan a call tomorrow @2PM Swiss time?

Thanks
Cédric

Hi Cedric,

We could plan a call regarding the database login with the function that you are looking.

We will send you an calendar invite by email for a 2h30PM Swiss time call for tomorrow, if it's good with you?

Best regards,
