Hi.
I am new to Remote Desktop Manager and I am trying to set up 2FA so that all my users are forced to use it. It seemed fairly straight forward and on the server side I choose "User and Security Management" and then choose one user to edit (user type "User") and clicked on "Configure" under "Two factor" on that user.
It said "None" on type so I clicked "Change". Here I can only choose from "None" or "Yubikey". I can't choose Google Authenticator. Is this something I can't control from the server admin side? Does that have to be initiated and done by each user via their settings-page on their computer? I tried that on the client side for one user and that worked ok.
What do I do wrong or what have I misunderstood?
Thank you in advance.
See attached pictures.
regards,
John

Hello,
What version of RDM are you running?
What type of data source are you using? Is it Devolutions Server? If it's Devolutions Server, what is the version?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
I am running version 12.6.7.0 of RDM
Datasource: DVLS
Version: I think it is version 4.6.0.0 (see attached screenshot)

Hello,
I may think that Google Authenticator 2FA is not enable in your server settings.
Please follow the steps in this help topic to activate your 2FA properly.

Please forgive me for my epic stupidity regarding how to adminstrate RDM. Where do I find the "Server settings"? Is that via the Remote Desktop Manager application on the server?
My task is only to set up 2FA for the users and everything else regarding RDM management/setup/administration etc is done by another group that is not available to me at this point.
Thank you.
Hello,
On the server where Devolutions Server is installed, open RDM with the administrator priviliges and go in the Tools -> Devolutions Server Console menu.
Then, select your Devolution Server instance and click on Edit on your left. The window that you will now see will be the Server Settings window.
On your left, you should now see the Two-Factor section.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
A big thank you! This worked.
