Importing into a Port Forward session

Importing into a Port Forward session

avatar

Howdy,

I have a port forward session already setup but I have a bunch of new entries I need to add. Can I do an Import to just add new entries or will it remove the existing ones and replace them with the imported ones?
https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?sessions_sshportforward.htm

Also, what format does the CSV need to be in? Are the column headings the same names as the CSV should use? Without the spaces?

Thanks.

Hello,

Are you looking to import identical entries and wondering if those will overwrite existing ones?

For the CSV Import, we have an article on import strategies which you can look up here;

These will not be identical entries. I would just import the 25 new entries (IPs and ports) and want them to get added to the ones that are already there. I've used things in the past that wipe the current data and just import the new data which is not what I want to happen.

Thanks.

Hello,

Do you mean that if you import new sessions in a folder, the existing ones will be deleted?

If that is your question then no, the new entries will be added and join the existing ones.

This is specifically about an SSH Port Forward session. I want to import more port/IP combinations into the list of existing ones inside the Port Forward session.

Hello,

I understand now sorry about that.

Would it be possible for you to provide us with a CSV sample so we can test to see if there is an issue during the import?

I just did a test on a fake session and importing into the SSH Port Forwards does work. It does not overwrite the existing data but it also does not check for duplicates either. if I import the same file three times I end up with 3 of every entry.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I will check with our engineering department to see if we can do something for this.
