VPN Group does not maintain connections if Open mode is set to Always connect.
If you set the "Open" mode to "Always connect" in the VPN Settings page, then RDM does not track the open VPN Sessions using the VPN Groups.
1. This isn't documented in the Online Help (https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/#_ga=2.117918089.1842969885.1503444416-553491807.1502240005)
2. This wouldn't work in an environment where a local machine has the same IP as the remote Machine in the remote subnet.
Can either the Online Help be amended, or RDM updated to support this feature?
I am using a work around with the "Open" mode set to "Connect if unable to ping/scan" and then using a custom host that should never be reachable.
Version is 12.6.4.0
Hi,
What VPN type do you use? I don't recall that RDM has this limitation.
Regards
David Hervieux
Hi David,
The VPN profile is set to use Microsoft VPN.
However testing with another client using OpenVPN type and being in the same VPN group, actually dials the VPN a second time.
If i set it to "Connect if unable to ping/scan" then it works as expected.
Hello,
