Batch edit sessions (User Specific Settings) on Folder not working the right way

avatar

Hi,

today we encountered following Problem:

Collegue A wants to open all RDP-Sessions External. As the customer is his responsibility the sessions were saved with open "external".

Collegue B needs to use this sessions, but wants to open them "embedded".
He right clicks on Folder "Customer XYZ" -> Edit -> Batch edit -> Edit Sessions (user specific settings)...
and changes the setting to "embedded".
Click OK, wait till RDM responses again, opens next RDP and

RDP-Session opens embedded, but do not remember Credentials which were set to credentials repository-entry.

Kind Regards
Markus

Hello,

What version of RDM are you running?

If I remember, your data source is Devolutions Server. What version of Devolutions Server are you using?

When you described that the credential setting has changed, is it the credential configuration inside the session or in the User Specific Settings?

Best regards,

Hi Jeff,

we use
DVLS 4.5.0.0
RDM 12.6.2.0-12.6.4.0

The credential setting doesn't get changed.
Collegue A and Collegue B are only using different Session-Setting for "Open External" or "Open Embedded".

Entry got created by Collegue A with "Open External"
Collegue B wants it to "Open Embedded"

As there are a lot of RDPs in a Folder created by Collegue A,
Collegue B clicks on that Folder -> Batch Edit -> Edit Settings (User specific) -> override to "Open Embedded".
That doesn't work. It breaks use of credentials repository in entry.

plz let me know if you need to get a demo-video.

Kind Regards
Markus

Hello,

We have been able to reproduce your issue and a ticket has been submitted to our engineering department.

We have found that each credential entry in the folder are modified with the Batch Edit feature and the Override credentials option box is enabled.

As a workaround, please select every credential entry under that folder and disable the Override credentials with Batch Edit -> Edit Settings (User specific)

Hello,

This issue has been fixed internally and will be available in the next minor version of RDM.

The credential entries will not be affected on a Batch Edit - User Specific Settings operation.
