Hi,
RDM supports plenty of VMWare tools, but not this one:
http://www.vmware.com/de/support/support-resources/pubs/viewclients_pubs/viewclient-windows-release-notes_16.html
We'd like to integrate that "natively" into RDM, any chance to get that supported?
regards
Alex
You wrote natively, do have something already like a command line?
David Hervieux
No, I just assumed that this would be possible, but didn't want to go that way.
We are going to use that on a quite large scale, so this would be far from ideal.
Is this called VMware View? We had an add-on which is now integrated. Is it another product?
David Hervieux
Hi,
yes, this is VMware view client. I think this is basicaly something like VMware Player but on a "professional" scale.

Alex
Have you tried the VMware View Client in the category Virtualization?
David Hervieux
It's the client for Desktop Virtualization (VDI) with performance/bandwidth enhancements of the protcol to support thin clients and hardware interworking (sharing HW-features of Cliwent and Server)
http://www.vmware.com/products/view/overview.html
The player is just a product to play downloaded (or with a real version like VMWare Workstation or ESXi created) VM.
@David:
This is not in my list, I only have the attached ones.

Sorry about that, it's an add-on:

Shame on me!!
Thanks for that. We will look into it.
No problem it's my fault. To be honest, the vmware product line is a little bit confusing and I mixed-up this one with VMWare Remote Control.

Hello David,
I don't know who developed the plugin, so I just post my findings in hthis thread.
The plugin tries to find the VDI client in C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware View\Client\bin.
There is also a 64-bit version, which installs in C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Client\bin.
The plugin works, but can you add the (non-documented) switch -standalone as an option?
This allows multiple instances of the View client to be started next to each other.
See http://www.vmadmin.co.uk/vmware/53-view/326-viewclientmultiple for an explanation.

Arjan
