Intel AMT setup on Mac does not work. Unable to connect to host 127.0.0.1
Ok, testing this remote desktop manager with the hope of allowing Intel AMT connections from Mac.
But it does not work at all, not even a little bit.
I create a new entry of type Intel AMT
Host is the IP of the computer
Redirection was Intel AMT Redirection/TCP 16994 (Tried no redirection and TLS and Default too)
VNC application is Default as the other choice shows This feature is not supported on Mac (So why bother listing it then)
Logon settings has the username and password
I can confirm access via the AMT web interface http://192.168.1.90:16992 Works fine there. Username works fine. Commands to power up and down work fine.
when I choose open session it spins for a bit and finally gives error:
no redirection (legacy): Unable to connect to host 192.168.1.90!
Redirection/TCP: Unable to connect to host 127.0.0.1!
Redirection/TLS: The request timed out
Tried right clicking and choose IntelAMT -> power down. Nothing happens, machine still running
Testing from a virtual machine running windows with trial of Real VNC viewer plus confirms the host is up, responding and can be remote controlled via KVM
Hi Mike,
If you have access to RDM Windows, would it be possible to validate if you end up with the same outcome?

I could install it on a Windows machine.
But the entire point is the make the Mac version do Intel AMT connections. What do you hope to find out with testing the Windows version?
The Windows and Mac version share a lot of code but unfortunately, not everything can be reused on both platforms.
If it works on Windows, that could help us narrow down where the problem might be.

On windows:
I can right click and go to the web interface
I can right click intel amt and tell the machine to power off, power on, reboot. this works.
I cannot get the remote KVM to work. Says connecting 127.0.0.1 port 50141 but then fails:

I disabled the windows firewall in case it was messing up the proxy.
And proof the machine supports KVM feature of Intel AMT. Running remote control via RealVNC viewer plus trial
Thank you for those tests.
On both Windows and Mac, the proxy is reverse engineered and looks like the common failing point.
Would it be possible to have the version of your AMT stack?
A newer version could have introduced breaking changes that our proxy cannot handle.

Hi Mike,
Sorry for the delay.
I've compared your Management Engine version to ours and your HP Z240 is much newer.
However, our version matches with your HP Elite 8300 machine.
If possible, could you please run a "system discovery" on the HP Elite 8300 server? The software to do this is located in the Intel SCS Download: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25616
From the command prompt to the configurator folder from the download and enter acuconfig.exe systemdiscovery this will create a xml file that you can then send for review.
