Second 2FA Promt when unlocking RDM

Second 2FA Promt when unlocking RDM

avatar

Afternoon,
We have come accross a possible bug with RDM 12.5.6 (using DVLS 4.5), whereby if we go to unlock RDM when this has been locked and minimised to the system tray, when being prompted for the users 2FA code (sent by email from our DVLS install) if the user does not enter the 2FA code within a few seconds and second duplicate 2FA prompt appears and a second 2FA email code is sent to the user.
At this point, regardless whether the 2FA prompt box is closed or a code entered, this screen hangs and we have to force close RDM via task manager.
For reference, our users have 2FA setup via email and this is setup nd managed by DLVS (running on a SQL server running SQL Express). This double 2FA prompt only appears when RDM is being unlocked after clicking the RDM icon in the system tray. If the RDM shortcut is opened from the Start Menu/Desktop etc this issue doesn't occur.
Thanks
Rich

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this, I am able to reproduce your issue.

Indeed to making action in the trayicon when the app is locked will trigger the 2FA. It is a normal behavior.
But since the application is still *Minimized* The lock is still enabled.

I'll forward this issue to the engineering team.

Best regards,

Hello again,

Just out of curiousity do you left click or right click in the trayicon when you try to bring up the application ?

Morning Alexendre,

We single left click on the system tray icon, which then produces the popup prompt for both logon details and then the 2FA code.

Hi,

This is fixed internally and will be available with the next release.
