Session Screen Size Window

avatar

About 3 versions ago, I started having issues where my sessions wouldn't fit into my window anymore. I have to keep using scroll bars within the session window to see the start menu, etc.

Is there a way to globally fix this. It works fine sometimes, but other times it doesn't. It's very inconsistent.

Hi,
Do you open your connection in embedded mode and do you specify a specific resolution?

It's opened in embedded mode.

Could you post a print screen of the display setting?

Everything seems to be fine. Could you try just for a test the Classic UI in File->Options?

Should the screen sizing mode be Smart Sizing?

Only if you want to resize the screen and get the display scaled. By default RDM should use your real estate size as the default resolution.

Ok, I'm wondering if it's because when I remote into my machine from home, the resolution is different. And then when the session is ended, it just never fixes itself.

Perhaps you could send me a small video in private.

Hi guys,

I know... its been 2 years but I recently noticed that my remote connection "reconnects" when I change the size of my RDM session. It did not use to do that. I'm guessing that it is because RDM readjusts the remote desktop session screen and has to refresh itself to adjust. is there a way to disable that? I sometimes resize so I can use the screen real estate for other applications but do not need the RDM session to adjust... Also, on some size changes, I loose connection altogether.

Thanks.

Hello,

Would you be able to set you Screen Sizing Mode to "Smart Sizing" and tell us if this is what you were looking for? (See Attachment)

Etienne,

All my sessions are set to Scrollbars which worked in the past. Smart Sizing gets rid of the "reconnecting" issue but is not what Scrollbars was. The content of the RDM session used to remain the same but the RDM windows could be resized and, using the scroll bars, could be "centered" wherever we wanted.

It looks as if the default behavior when set to "Scrollbars" is now "Smart Reconnect". In fact, after testing all options, "Scrollbars" and "Smart Reconnect" behave exactly the same.

Hello,

Would you be able to send a screenshot of your display properties and how your remote session looks like? Also, what version of Remote Desktop Manager are you running?

Any way to attach a video? I can capture with OBS and that will show behavior better.

Hello,

Do you have a user specific setting on the session that has "Smart Reconnect"? (Edit -> User Specific Settings)

Also, could you change your Remote Desktop Size to "Current Work Area Size"?
