Issues with Remote Desktop Manager & BitDefender AV

avatar

Hi All,

I'm having issues with Remote Desktop Manager (Enterprise Edition) and BitDefender. When the firewall function in BitDefender is running, my connections take around 2-3mins to throw up a authentication prompt, and the application freezes during this time.

Can anyone reccomend any troubleshooting steps and/or logging we can turn on to find out what's going on here?

Thanks,

Alex.

Hello,

What version of RDM are you using?

Have you tried excluding %LOCALAPPDATA%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager from being scanned by the AV?

Also, are you able to add an exception for our application in the AV's policies?

Best regards,

Hi Mark,

12.5.6.0 - I shall try to add a exclusion rule for that folder and see if that helps.

Still occurs even with an exclusion in place - I see the info message: "A program has been allowed to connect to the Internet. Process path c:\program files (x86)\devolutions\remote desktop manager\remotedesktopmanager.exe. Protocol TCP (6). Port 3389" in BitDefender and the app just hangs.

Hello,

Have you tried adding an exception for the executable remotedesktopmanager.exe?

Hello,

we also have Bitdefender and cannot access to your web (https://www.devolutions.net), Bitdefender blocks it because it's classified as "Online dating" (and this type of webs are not permitted at our work office).
We have opened an incident case with Bitdefender and they say that they are analyzing it, perhaps you (Devolutions) can talk to Bitdefender to check this ASAP.

Regards,
Héctor

PS: I'm writing this post from an external connection.

Yes, I've tried with specific exceptions for that application.

Bitdefender has send us an email:

Thank you for your patience.

The URL has been fixed. Please let us know if you still have any issues accessing it.

And... yes, now we can access your web from our office :-)

Héctor
