CSV Synchronizer ignores updated values to the MetaInformation\Keywords value

CSV Synchronizer ignores updated values to the MetaInformation\Keywords value

avatar

I'm running version 12.5.4.0
The first initial CSV Synchronizer run fills up all the fields correctly. However when the value of the Metainformation\Keywords value is changed in the CSV file. The entry isn't updated in RDM.

Hello,

We have an option in the Advanced tab to update when the keyword field is different.

Yes, that option is already turned on. but changes in the CSV regarding the keywords field are not processed. Any ideas?

Any idea? i noticed that when an entry in the CSV is deleted. the Synchronizer does not process this Remote Desktop manager. Maybe a bug?

Hello,

By default, entries created by synchronizers aren't deleted when they are missing from the import source. You can enable this feature by changing the "action on entry mismatch" option in the synchronizer entry to either "Delete" or "Move to".

I think changing this option will also resolve your issue with the keywords not being in sync. Could you try it out?

When I change the "action on entry mismatch" the machine isn't removed. Also the modification on a session that is changed in the CSV file isn't updated in RDM. :-(

Could you provide us a sample of you csv? We will ask our QA to reproduce your issue.

Hello,

Just to be sure, what type of data source are you using?

Mr Philipsen,

Could you please go in File -> Options -> Advanced and tell us what your debug level is ?

If it is over 0 try putting it down to 0 and using the synchronizer again.

My debug level is 0.

Just to give an update on this call. I got 675 entries in my CSV. When I Create a new CSV with only the top 5 entries everything is working as expected. Can you please help me how I should troubleshoot the CSV file for the entry that is crashing the import?

avatar

I found the solution. In two of the 675 entries the Host/URL field was not filled in. Maybe it's a good idea to run some verification on the csv file. I saw you do this on the header already. But maybe just generate a warning or error when one of the required fields is missing?

Thank you for the details. I will check what we can do.
