View Entries Properties

avatar

Afternoon,

We have found that users who are not administrators within RDM are unable to view the properties of an entry in RDM (be it a remote desktop session, VPN session, folder group etc...) and that only users who are given the administrator role (within the user account in RDM) can select to view the properties of these entries.

What we would like, is for our non-administrator users to be able to simply view/read-only the properties of these entries in RDM, for a reference point of view only (i.e. to check what server name/IP address has been set in RDM for a remote desktop session)?

This could be a permissions thing with our RDM setup so any advice on a way of setting this up (if possible) would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
Rich

Hello Rich,
I will enter a feature request but this is not as simple as it look. Our property dialog was not designed to be read-only. This means that we would have to rework all the controls. I think it's a good idea it will just take time.

Hi David,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Fair enough - when looking through the options it didn't look like this was available so thought we'd ask.

Hopefully we'll see this option come through the development cycle for RDM in the near future, thanks for raising this as a feature request.

One final question, when setting the Default permissions option at the Root Level in RDM, where does this then inherit the permissions from as this is set at the highest 'root' level in RDM (I understand that Default can also be termed Inherit within RDM)?

Thanks again.
