Different color from group/folder icons
The standard group/folder icons are by default light orange. When choosing a different icon, you can select a orange colored icon aswell... however that orange is different from the default icons orange. It's only a small difference but I keep noticing it :(
Is there a way to change just the color of an icon?

I like to have the new selected icon to have the same color as the default color of the group/folder icons.
I see what you mean. I will add a feature request for that. We would have to create all the icons with the color you ask but I think it's a good idea to do that.

Maybe you can add some sort of overlay filter for icons, and a color selector?
Unfortunately it's not that simple.
