Getting error "Unable to save the entry; Access denied" but object is still saved

We use AD authentication through DVLS, the AD group containing users is defined as a role in the data source with A/E/D permissions, users are auto-provisioned through their group membership. We are seeing occasional errors from DVLS when trying to manipulate objects in the data source, with a Warning error being logged (Connection access denied(add)), but the objects still seem to be saved correctly even though DVLS is throwing the error message to RDM. Any suggestions?

DVLS 4.0.7.0 on Windows Server 2012R2, RDM 12.4.12.0 on Windows 10.

Hello,

We are aware of this issue when you try to edit an entry and you get the error message Unable to save the entry; Access denied.

It is possible that this issue is related to the configuration of the role or the user. Sometimes, when the user gets the administrator rights from a role, you can get this problem. The solution is to set the administrator rights at the user level.

Could you please check it and if it is the case, change the administrator rights to set it at the user level?

We will try to set the permissions directly on the users that report seeing this issue, thanks!

We also experience this a lot.
I think it is caching related, as sometimes we can only resolve the problem when deleting the local caching GUID folder inside %localappdata%\devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\<guid>

Not to be confused with offline cache, we don't use this, just the Intelligent caching option.

RDM - 12.5.4.0
DVLS - 4.0.7.0

@michael,

Using RDM 12.5.4.0, you should use Devolutions Server 4.5.0.0.
https://server.devolutions.net/Home/Download

Let us know if your still encounter caching issue after the upgrade of your server to 4.5.0.0.
