We are getting ready to roll out RDM (12.0.8.0) using SQL as our Advanced Data Source and using the Devolutions (Custom) Authentication Type for User security. The RDM client will be pushed to our users machines and i'm trying to take advantage of using the Environment Variable %USERNAME% in the Data Source settings. I would like to create all the users ahead of time and not have to create individual Data Source files. So far i've not had much success.
1) If I create a Data Source Configuration with a custom username in the User field, i.e. jdoe, and export that everything works fine.
2) If I create a Data Source Configuration with "%USERNAME%" in User field, then export the DS configuration, it does not work.
Devolutions.RemoteDesktopManager.Business.UserSecurityConnectionException: Invalid username or password, please verify your credentials!
Username: %USERNAME%

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
For your information, an engineer told me that this should be easy to fix and should be available in the next beta version. When this will be fixed, he will reply on this thread.
We are very close to publish the next official release of RDM. Incidentally, we cannot provide a timeline for its delivery.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
