Started program, "new version!" + now in trial!?

avatar

I I started up Remote Desktop Manager like every other day today and upon starting, the software popped up with a notification of a new version, the view is completely different (my classic view was turned off), and the software is in Trial mode... well, it seems like all my settings are gone and I need to reconfigure the program to my liking.

All my remote connections are still there fortunately...

Is there a way to recover the lost settings somehow, maybe from a backup file? The upper menu is so I don't even know how to get to preferences to try and reconfigure my preferred view. I tried installing this update that the message harassed me about but that didn't fix anything.

Terribly annoying :/

Hi,
This help topic could help you:

http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/installation_configurationfilelocation.htm

For the trial, you can switch to Standard in the menu Help->Registration

Have you installed the software in a different folder?

Unfortunately the .bak file of my configuration is the last time I opened it, which is when I experienced the problem, so basically the software decided to reset itself and wipe my configurations.

I did not install any software, this experience was random.

I have no explanation. I would have to verify if something could have caused that.

I should have posted before I updated the software as the .bak file before that might have had the settings. Too late now unfortunately, since opening it twice after that would have overwritten the .bak. Fortunately you've advised me that this file exists and now that I know of its existence, once I have a proper configuration that I like, I'll back up the file so I can restore it if it happens again.

Mind you, this is the first time this has been experienced so maybe it was just a random bug that I'll never see again. If no one else has complained, it's probably just a one time problem!
