Recent SSH updates causing many problems

For the past month or two we have had many issues with the built-in SSH shell. We have frequently had to resort back to Putty. We are seeing frequent issues connecting to Cisco routers and switches that we previously did not have issues with.
My most recent issue is connecting to a Cisco router. We get "An unknown SSH error was encountered" "No Error" Putty connects fine.
Earlier I had an issue connecting to a Cisco switch. I tried 3 times to connect the first two gave errors, the third time I was connected.
