Move Entries to Repository

avatar

Hi,

for testing, if RDM can replace our actual connections (VPN, RDP,,...) and documentation, we downloaded the actual Trial-Version and configure a database in our MS SQL-Server.
We imported our data (RoyalTS, .csv-files,...) and create users an security groups.
The handling works for our business, but the performance was getting very slow.
For help, i searched the forum and found an article for splitting the data in multiple repositories.
Is ther an comfortable way to move the entries to an other repository? Or is only "export and import"?
Export and import would work, but after import, all associated securitygroups to the entries are loss.
Is ther any way to export the entries incl. associated securitygroups?

thx for help
Max

Hi David,

thanks for your response.
But, is it normal that the associated securitygroups getting lost when we export and import the entries?
We have not assign many entries with groups, only for testing. But it would be annoying if it happens later when we have to split the repositories again.

Max,

I'm currently working on implementing the option to export the Security Groups have them import properly into a different repository.

Max,

This was released in the last few builds. I've tested in v12.4.8.0 and it works (make sure you check "Include Security Groups" while exporting. The security groups must exist in the destination RDM. So if you are exporting to a different backed database that has the same group names it will not work they need the same ID (guid) in the back end.
