2FA Question on Azure datasource

2FA Question on Azure datasource

avatar

Hi,

I'm currently evaluating RDM (Beta 12.4.3) , and I've setup an azure data source with read only offline access.

The data source is configured to use google authenticator and the offline access is password protected.

When i open RDM in online mode it request a google authentication code, if I start in offline mode it requests the password.

So far everything works as expected, but if i start in offline mode and go to file\ go online , RDM goes on to online mode without requesting the google authentication code.

My question is this by design or is it a bug?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I will post what I think is a related question:

If you lock the application, either on \File\Lock application, or by selecting it to lock on idle\ on windows lock\on stand by, you will be asked the database login password, and not the google authentication code, witch is the expected behavior since this is what happens when you open the application for the first time.

Hi Mario,

The next beta release "should" resolve the issue. Why "should" you ask? Well, we can reproduce with v12.4.4.0 but not with the current code we are running in development. So I'm 99.9% certain that it is in fact resolved. Furthermore, I've been fixing offline issues for the last few days so that would explain why it's too reproducing on my development environment. Please give it a try with the next beta release once it comes out.

Currently we only re-prompt the password and not the 2FA. I will look to see if we can change to behavior via a data source configuration option or something else.
