it is always a hassle switching datasources .. would it be possible to switch datasources by clicking the systray icon?

Hi,
You can add the Data Source in the trayicon, go in the option and check the option Include data source menus. It's in the tab page Tray icon.

hi,
i did that and have to switch between datasources several times a day .. therefore a "one-click-switch" would be *very* helpful ...

Hi,
Do you have something in mind, I don't know how I can do it in one click ?

hi,
maybe by double-click?

or middle-click?

Hi,
I don't understand the possible workflow, if you double click on the icon, it's open RDM, maybe you can have more than one trayicon, one per data source (optional) ?

right you are! i just never use double-click the systray icon .. therefore i forgot it exists ...
maybe we can work around utilising the tray menu as having multiple rdm icons on the systray (which i can not tell apart) is not really a good solution ...
what do you think of letting the user edit/customize the systray menu? if the last item of the systray menu would be "switch data source" it would help me .. but maybe someone else would prefer a different order of the items in that menu ... therefore adding a checkbox "show Exit..." in the File | Options | Trayicon | Options would be appreciated and also a order selection of all options
for me deactivating "Exit..." would get me one step closer to fewer clicks ...
if you could add a new option "Switch datasources" to the systray menu and position that right above "Exit..." so that this would become my last item in the list would help alot ...
also setting different trayicons/colors for each data source would help knowing which data source is currently active ...
