Problem with Reveal password only for certain folders

Problem with Reveal password only for certain folders

avatar

DVLS 4.0.7.0
RDM 12.4.1.0 Beta
AD users and roles

I have a problem with giving users access to use "View Password" for specific folders.

Leaving the permissions to "Default" and setting the Role or User to "Allow reveal password" works fine.

But when specifing a custom permission and giving a specific Role or user the right to reveal the password makes the "View password" button to disapear. Editing the session allow the user to see the password by clicking on the "eye".

Why does the button disappear for me ?

Hello,

Could you please post a print screen of the custom permissions you have set on a folder which you get this problem?

And could you please go in File - My Data Source information and send us the report by clicking on the small envelop on the top corner of this report dialog?

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for the report and the print screens.

Could you please post a print screen of the permissions of the role UC\RDM-TAC?
And does the user Test4 is a member of this AD group?

Best regards,

Yes, user "Test4" is member of that group in AD

Hello,

Have you also set a custom View permission on the folder for the Role in the General tab of the Permissions section?

Could you please try to remove the Security Group to test if it works?

Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce exactly this issue on my environment.

Best regards,

No that have i not done. But when I do that the folder disappears, changing back to "default" again and i can see the folder again.

If i in Permission view of the folder set Custom and specify the User "Test4" AND login to RDM using UPN it works fine.
But not if only specifying the Role "RDM-TAC" that the user is member of , even though logging in with UPN

Hello,

Because there is an issue to get the AD Groups for a user when you are using DVLS 4.0.7.0, the user is not tied to the role.

This issue has been fixed internally and will be available in the future version of DVLS.

Regrettably, the Support Department cannot provide an exact release date as the full process (Build – Quality Assurance – Release) is out of our control.

The Engineering Department is working diligently and they will publish the build as soon as they deem it acceptable for public release.

Best regards,
