IP for Guest not showing up in Hyper-V console for Server 2016 Host
I have a Server 2016 Hyper-V host to which I'm connecting in RDM. If I look at the Hyper-V console for that machine, the IP addresses of my running VMs are not listed and instead I see this message:
"The following Msvm_KvpExchangeDataItem.Name keys are deprecated: NetworkAddressIPv4, NetworkAddressIPv6, RDPAddressIPv4, RDPAddressIPv6,,. Please configure guest IP addresses using Msvm_GuestNetworkAdapterConfiguration."
Forgot to add that that message shows up on 12.0.8.0. If I do the same in 12.0.16.0, the IP field is blank. No message, but no IP either.
Hi,
The first message was an error with RDM 12.0.8.0, we correct it in our beta version, but the blank IP is still a mystery.
Could you post or send by email at support@devolutions.net a print screen of your Hyper-V console. I would like to view the details of your console, to be able to reproduce the problem.
Best regards,
David Grandolfo
Thanks for your print screen.
We have been able to reproduce your issue.
A ticket has been submitted to our engineering department.

Hello,
We looked for a fix to this issue previously and failed to find a workaround, but we'll stay on the lookout. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Thanks. It's a low priority issue for us.
Hello,
A fix for this issue should be out in the latest beta version of RDM. You can download it here at the bottom of the page http://remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/Download
From what we were able to test, if the virtual machine has an IP address configured and able to be seen in the Windows Hyper-V Manager, it should also work in RDM's own Hyper-V manager. This fixed the issue with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 where the IP addresses wouldn't show.

Hubert Mireault
