Doubt about custom VNC

avatar

Hi,

I`m currently testing the enterprise version of RDM and I have a doubt about using a custon VNC to open a connection

Can add my custom file (I`ve altered a lot of things in layout of vnc ) to use inside RDM (using embedded mode) in a template ?
Or I need to create a bat file to call my application outside?

Hello,

As mentionned in Entry Types > Sessions > Remote Connections > VNC, we recommend to use The UltraVNC package for the embedded display mode. This mode allows you to set a custom config.

Have you tried that out?

Hi Maurice

Thank you for this quick reply, but my case is, I've altered the .exe file of ultraVNC and when I use the embedded UltraVNC uses the default buttons and layouts

it's possible I can change the original .exe file of ultraVNC inside RDM?

thank you in advance

Unfortunately it's not possible. We use a special version of UltraVNC converted to a ActiveX. I think that you would need to open it in external. On the other hand perhaps you can give us more details on what you changed in UltraVNC. Maybe it could a feature request for our own custom VNC.

no, it is not possible.

A "command line session" that launches with your preferences is surely your best bet at this point.

Maurice and David,

thank you so much for this help, I solved this problem using external mode and point the "winvnc.exe installation" to my application all worked well in this way

Thank you so much!!!
have a great day
