Private Vault Credentials - "Referenced By" not working?

Private Vault Credentials - "Referenced By" not working?

avatar

When I want to look up where I used which of my various Private Vault Credentials (using User Specific Settings / Override / Private Vault entry) I unfortunately do not see anything listed when I click on Private Vault -> Credential Entry -> Dashboard -> Referenced By tab.

Alternatively, I can at least identify where User Specific are set by clicking on File -> My Account Settings ->User Specific Settings List but as this is not specific to credentials, there's no column that displays the selected credential entry in the list.

My credential entries are KeePass references btw.

Using RDM 12.0.8.0

Hello,

The referenced by will only work if the credentials are saved directly in RDM, like with the Username/Password credential entry type.

Since KeePass it's an external program, the referenced by will not work.

That's unfortunate. But why showing the Referenced By tab for KeePass credential entries then in the first place? I mean I can understand that showing the actual username and password for a KeePass entry is not possible but listing the session entries where this credential is being used doesn't strike me as a complicated?

And I just tried using a Username/Password credential from my Private Vault with a session entry in All Sessions (again using User Specific Settings / Override / Private Vault entry) but even for this credential type the Referenced By tab is empty and does now list the overriden session entry from the "All Sessions" section.

Hello,

I will verify with our engineering department if it's possible to display the sessions that use the credential entry in the User Specific Settings.

Jean-Francois, thanks a lot. I think that would make life easier a lot in multi user RDM environments :)

Mr Kratz,

The feature you have requested has been added and will be available in the next beta of RDM.

The "Referenced by" will now work with the "Existing credential entry" and "Private Vault credential entry" for user specific settings and local specific settings.

KeePass entries should also be working not only the credentials saved directly in RDM as mentioned above.
