Resizing main window and sessions getting scrollbars

Resizing main window and sessions getting scrollbars

avatar

Hello,

Two problems:

1) When I resize main RDM window, I can only describe as in "it doesn't resize". Although the screen is filled, in a manner, RDM window size remains the same. In other words, the space that is supposed to be filled with the main screen of RDM, is only a grey area. min/max/close buttons also don't move into the right upper corner as they should. I tried reset layout, as I did try to reinstall RDM. Version is latest free from the homepage.

2) This was working until the upgrade I think: I have 4 sessions. I open 1st, 2nd, all is fine, the 3rd session opens, is OK, but session 1 and 2 now have scrollbars. I tried using the two additional options, Smart Sizing and Smart Reconnect, and while both almost work, it's not as it used to be.
With Smart Sizing: 2nd session becomes blurry
With Smart Reconnect: each time I switch between 3rd session, and any other session, screen blinks and reconnects, etc. Quite annoying.

What's going on here?

Thanks

I got the same problem using 3.0.9.0 Free version.
And configured external maximized RDP connections don't go maximized anymore.

Great. Time to downgrade. Who ever said updates are good... going back to 3.0.6.0, just customize the link.

Hi,
Could you post a print screen of what you have? We are aware of a potential issue with the upgrade but the fix is simple. All you have to do is close RDM and go %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManagerFree and delete *.lyt.

Let me know if this work. By the way the next update should have a fix for that but it will reset the layout. By the way here is the link for 3.0.6.0:

http://cdn.devolutions.net/download/Setup.RemoteDesktopManagerFree.3.0.6.0.exe

This is how it looks when maximized:

The solution to delete *.lyt files worked. Thank you

Hello everyone!

Just FYI, this workaround posted by @David Hervieux from 9 years ago, still works today. I have the free RDM version "2025.3.30.0 64-bit (JIT)" and i had this bug for years already, and i've just solved it today hahahaha.
